Wired Data Logging
Wired real-time communications within a building are typically completed with low-voltage cabling, and route back to a final central location for Internet connectivity. SMT can supply the labor for the cabling or have an on-site low-voltage installer complete the work. The SMT electronics minimize cabling runs by utilizing 8 channel or 48 channel WiDAQs for the measurement of sensors. Wired sensors are best for long term monitoring.

Wireless Data Logging
Fully automated (Cloud-based remote access)
Wireless sensors transmit data from each panel to receiving devices placed inside the building (hallways, common areas) or outside (rooftops, plaza decks). Placement depends on the building’s construction and sensor locations. SMT uses wired and wireless repeaters to extend range, sending all data to a single point for internet connectivity. Wireless sensors offer flexible installation and support automated cloud-based monitoring without needing on-site access.
Wireless (On-site connectivity only)
Wireless nodes can store data locally until a technician visits the site to collect it. SMT staff or trained personnel periodically download the data and upload it to the cloud after returning to the office. This approach is used during construction (before power or internet is available) or for limited sensors where real-time data isn't needed.
Cellular Transmission
SMT can transmit data directly to the cloud using cellular networks at each panel location. SMT allows real-time monitoring during transportation or early construction, even without building power or internet. Each cellular-enabled TiG has its own SIM card and data plan, with a monthly connection fee.
