LUNCH & LEARNS (L&L)

We actively present and educate about our structural monitoring visions, technologies and tools.

PRESENTED AT:

BOOK LUNCH & LEARN

NASA, Buildex, RCI, BC Housing/BCBEC, AIA, ASHRAE

EDUCATIONAL CREDITS

Each of our Lunch & Learns is eligible for 1 AIA/AIBC-accredited continuing education unit.

Conventional / Low-Slope Roof Assemblies

The application of Moisture Detection Sensor (MDS) Tape under conventional low-slope waterproof membranes enables real-time detection of physical moisture, helping property managers control its impact. Early alerts and trend data support contractors during installation and assist maintenance teams throughout the roof’s service life—from construction to occupancy.

Inverted / Protected Membrane Roof Assemblies (PMR)

With Protected Membrane Roof (PMR) waterproofing, a comprehensive electronic leak detection scan can be performed during installation—before overburden or green roofs are added. A permanently installed membrane monitoring system, using a grid and DigiStars, provides real-time updates via cloud servers on potential failures. This fully automated solution ensures long-term quality assurance for the life of the building.

Investigation
Electronic sensors and monitoring technology assess wall and roof systems by tracking moisture, temperature, vapour pressure, and more—offering insights from commissioning to aging performance. This presentation covers real-world applications, installation, site assessments, and how monitoring influenced decisions by consultants, contractors, and owners.
